The Ranch

Great Community, Great Place

One of the characteristic features of neighborhoods in Murphy Texas is that they all balance convenience with a suburban feel. The Ranch is no different in this regard. It comprises elements of a spacious country, yet, it is close to major roads, shopping areas, business centers etc. The homes in The Ranch average between ¼ to ½ acre. This neighborhood has close proximity to highways 75 and 78 as well as the intersection between F.M.544 and Murphy Road, which together, make the neighborhood more attractive. Again, The Ranch is another neighborhood in Murphy that offers residents the best possible features.

North Hill Park

The Ranch, like other Neighborhoods in Murphy has a big pool and clubhouse. However, the north Hill Park at The Ranch is a distinguishing feature present in this neighborhood and is located on the east side of the subdivision. This park covers up to 2 acres of land, contains lots of picnic tables, a sand volleyball court, covered pavilion, soccer field, basketball court and 2 shaded playgrounds for kids. There is a 0.5 mile track surrounding the park, which is the longest we have seen in the entire Murphy. Only residents with key cards have access to the clubhouse and pool. Water from Maxwell Creek flows through this neighborhood.

Wylie ISD vs. Plano ISD

The neighborhood is zoned into 2 school districts namely, the Wylie Independent School District an the Plano Independent School District. Both school districts are highly reputable and popular in the state of Texas. Both ISDs cover most neighborhoods. Wylie ISD is made up of schools ranging from grades kindergarten to four, five to six, seven to eight and nine to twelve. Also, students in Wylie IS are mandated to wear uniforms. However, on the other hand lies the Plano ISD. Here, students are not required to wear uniforms, the school series is divided into grades kindergarten to 5, six to eight, nine to ten and eleven to twelve. The International Baccalaureate program which was integrated into senior high (11th and 12th grade) in 2012 is the only exception for these students. Therefore, it is at the beginning of the freshman year that the students in the IB program, attend the Senior High School.

The Ranch is another amazing neighborhood in Murphy which continues the Murphy trend of producing great communities with great events, exemplary schools and a great rural meets suburban location.  This is also the furthest North subdivision for those wanting to stretch into the more scenic areas of Collin County like Lucas, Parker and St Paul.  The Ranch is very accessible to Richardson and Plano with short trips down Murphy Road or 544.   Home values range from $300 to $500k in The Ranch.  Just down the road are 2 incredible event areas:  Murphy Park and Plano Sports Academy or PSA as it is known to the locals.  These areas are hubs of family activities, organized sports and Murphy events for all ages.  You need to come experience the activity on a Saturday afternoon, it is infectious.
